On April 12th I received a call from a company who called themselves United Processing, they told me they were calling to collect money from me for the payday loan I had received a couple of months before. The gentleman who I talked to his name is Shaun or Sean and the number he left on my voicemail is 904-685-5008.
He told me that someone was on there over to wherever I was to pick me up since I had not paid the loan back, and was accused of internet fraud. He started asking me where I was, if I was at home or at my workplace. I told him I was at work, and there was no way someone would be able to come and pick me up because I was at work and it would ruin my reputation.
He stated it didnt matter and someone was on there way. I panicked and asked him how much money I owed he told me 588 dollars. I told him I would pay this money now in order to protect myself. He said even if I did he would still have someone come to get me. I begged not to have that happen. He said to hold on and he was going to ask his supervisor if I was able to pay the money. He put me on hold and came back on the line and few minutes later and all of a sudden I was able to pay the money and whoever was coming out to get me, was called off. I asked him if I would be able to only pay half at this time because i paid the whole thing it would wipe out my bank account. He started yelling at me saying he was doing something nice for me and I was trying to give him the run around. So I said fine. I gave him my account information and a couple of hours later 588 dollars was taken out of my account.
I have contacted the attorney general in my area and they have sent a complaint letter to the company, and the response that was received said they have no records of who I am or who I talked to. I have a record of a confirmation number, and phone number to contact and my bank statement which on april 12th shows 588 dollars being taken out of my account to an association in Florida. I would like to get to the bottom of this and find out what is really going on. Thank you.
