Asset Acceptance, LLC attempted to contact me about a debt that they believed I owed. They purchased this dept from Providian Financial, a debt more than 4 years old and long after the "statute of limitations" has expired.
When I disputed this debt, Asset Acceptance, LLC illegally informed the credit reporting agencies (specifically Experian) that the debt was last deliquent in not the original deliquency date of as required by the Federal Trade Commission's Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. As such, this debt is illegally stated that it will not be removed from by credit report until March, not the seven years as required by federal law from the date of last delinquecy of 2001.
Experian refuses to correct this information, also in violation of the Federal Trade Commision's laws, and illegally stands by the illegal actions of Asset Acceptance, LLC.
Since I have provided proof to Experian of this illegal actions and they refuse to modify this information, I can only suggest that Experian is guilty of collusion to committ illegal actions with Asset Acceptance, LLC and is purposely falsifying credit report information for financial gain, possibly kick-back or other illegal payment to not change the information as required by law, and holding my credit report as black-mail.
I would like to hear from anyone else who has experienced illegal activity from Asset Acceptance, LLC and/or Experian.
