Asking the Federal Trade Commission to close down Asset Acceptance.
Asset Acceptance performs unfair business practices against consumers in trying to get them to pay old debts that are outdated by the Statue Of Limitations under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and also they try to get consumers to pay debts that are not even theirs. They buy old debts for pennies on the dollar and then attempt to persuade consumers into paying the full amount of the old debt when Asset Acceptance only paid a few dollars on each account.
And they try to get consumers to pay debts that Asset Acceptance cannot even verify as belonging to that consumer. Many people have been taken by Asset Acceptance and it is time for the Federal Trade Commission to shut them down to prevent anyone else from getting taken by Asset Acceptance. I urge everyone that has had a problem with Asset Acceptance to post their complaint on this website and file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, and your State Attorney Generals office.
