First Premier Bank
Rip Off Wrongful deactivation and credit reporting status

I was offered a credit line from First Premier in 2004 to rebuild my credit. This is the only reason why I accepted it. For two years, I paid my monthly payments on time, thinking that I was rebuilding my credit.in the beginning of this year, they sent me a new credit card to replace the old one. I received a statement a recently and I noticed that I had "$0 Credit Available". I have not been charging on this card, just making payments.

I called customer service who said they linked it to an old account I had with First Premier that I had filed bankruptcy on years before, but, it was already discharged. The Customer service rep sounded clueless so she transferred me to the accounts department.

The woman in the Accts. Dept. Said that she could not re-activate my card because it didn't fall through with the terms and conditions because of the account I once had before. I told them that it was clearly their fault for not looking into that before issuing me another line of credit, letting me make payments on it for two years and then closing my account on me, expecting me to still make the payments and to keep charging me finance charges. No one had an answer for me and did not seem to care.

I went to check my credit report and First Premier reported it as "Close by Grantor", which still does NOT look good on my report. All my efforts to rebuild my credit have been shot. I am so disappointed and feel that this company should not get away with this. They are making me suffer for their mistake. You can clearly see on all three credit bureau reports that my old First Premier account was included in a bankruptcy and had been discharged. How could they have missed that bit of information before sending me another card, claiming they wanted to help me REBUILD my credit?

Something needs to be done about this credit card company. They can't keep getting away with all their unethical business practices.
