Federal Pacific Credit Company
And American Recovery Systems Collecting on a bill that is Already settled RIPOFF

I was first contacted by Federal pacific around may. There employee Misty Alders informed me that I owed money on my Providian card, and that it was severally past due. I informed her that I had made a settlement agreement with American Recovery Systems (ARS) on that account in March. I gave her all the information pertaining to the account that I had, and even directed her to an individual that worked for ARS (Charles Bondurant). She told me over several phone calls that she would take care of the issue.

On December 7 I received a message on my answering maching stating that it was critical that I contact Kim regarding a potential legal matter, and that they had not received the paper work as promised.

Apparently they had spoken with my husband about this account. I called and spoke to a very rude man named Mr. Jay Teah who told me that it was not up to them to get the information on the account and that the burden of proof was mine. I informed him about Misty saying she would take care of the matter and he told me Misty no longer worked for the company and that he had no proof that was said. Eventually after repeated requests to speak to his supervisor I got to speak to Kim. I sent her a copy of the check I had written to ARS in and was then told that because the account number for ARS didn't match my providian account it was not going to be enough to settle this issue.

I called providian and was told the account was sold to The Credit Store, The credit store sold it to New Century and New century has sold it to someone else. ARS told me that Providian should have the information on the account and if not call them back, I called back and Charles Bondurant was not available and still has not returned my call.

I am being threatened with legal action, and I have settled this account for half of what I owed. I don't really know where to go now, but I refuse to pay anymore money on this account.
