Providian Financial is horrible. My husband and I recently applied for a home loan. We "thought" that his account with Providian was sold to another company, and it was. Unfortunatly, his credit report reflects that his balance is 7,000.00 and he is 585.00 past due.
The last time they reported to the credit agencys was in 2000!!! His account was sold his balance should be $0. And oh yes we have tried to call Providian and no one will talk to us, they will only give us a fax # to send a letter to with the information on it. They said that we should receive a letter stating that they have 30 days to investigate the claim.
We have received no letter and no one will help him in customer service. We have already thought of getting Providian to send a letter to us stating our account balance is 0 and they refuse to do so... Not sure what to do from here and after reading all of this my hope is falling. I feel like this will never end!
