Citizens Baank strikes again with excessive, unfair overdraft charges, and holding deposits. We had made a transfer into our Citizens checking account on 11/28, and received confirmation via email that the trasfer had been confirmed/accepted on that date by Citizens Bank. Several small debits were then made by us the following day, which were to have been covered by the transfer. Lo and behold, Citizens held the transfer for 2 more days, creating several NSF charges as the debits were immediately deducted, although the deposit was not applied.
Citizens withdrew a total of $185 in NSF fees, then applied the deposit. When I called them, they stated that the company making the transfer (PayPal) had requested the deposit not be credited to our account for 2 days. We called Paypal, who stated they do not request deposits be held; their transfers all go through as instant. Today, even though the account has had a positive balance, they decided to deduct more NSF fees... Pretty much stealing everything we had deposited. Please be careful with this bank.
