Ripoff with forebearance again in

I have just refinanced my loan with another company and I was attempting to find Ocwen's site in order to access my account to make sure the funds were received, etc. When I ran into your site. I can't believe that other people have had the same problem with them that I had and I was, truthfully too embarrassed to complain about it.

Thank God my problems were not as bad as some of you and I got away from them (hopefully) just in time. We bought our home 2 years ago July and the note was sold 2x before we made our first payment. The 3rd time, it was sold to Ocwen. Our payments were on time until the 3rd sale of the note b/c I had not received a notice from the former note holder confirming the sale to Ocwen. I had to call them to verify. That payment was 3 weeks late-no big deal.

Then in Nov. My husband was injured on the job. Many people know how long it takes to get worker's comp., how little it pays compared to the person's salary and the mounting medical bills. Not to mention my 4 year old's bday in Nov. And Christmas in Dec.

As a result, in January, we were 2 months behind. I called Ocwen to see what could be done and they said, "Pay the full amount". We couldn't do this but we could pay 1 month. They said we had to wait until it went 90days so that it could be handled by the "forebearance dept."

By the time we were able to talk to someone in this dept. It was 4 months behind. I had obtained a personal loan from what can only be described as a "guardian angel" of a broker who tried unsuccessfully to refinance me and then felt bad for me and my injured husband and my 3 kids. It cost downpayment of $3500.00 to Ocwen.in giving this downpayment, Ocwen entered me into a forebearance agreement for the additional $2500.00.

In the meantime, I figured out that they had been escrowing too much for my taxes and my payments were actually scheduled to go down $60.00 per month.in the forebearance, they agreed to keep the payents the same and put that $60 towards the forebearance amount.

I, too received a summons from the court that my house was to be auctioned off but no actual date yet-after reading these complaints, I wonder if I ever would've been given the date? Incidently, after I had done all this forebearance crap, Ocwen informed me that I had to call the attorney and let them know that I had made the forebearance agreement myself, that they "did not do that".

Meanwhile, I had an appraiser come to check out the value of my house for auction purposes, 2 different guys come out and take pictures of my house and several on-lookers who I am guessing were foreclosure investors. Did I mention my house is only 2 years old, has gained $40,000 in equity since we bought it and we had put down a $36,000 down payment when we bought it?

Anyway, things were going fine after the agreement other than when I contacted the lawyer they said, "You know even with this agreement, if you fall behind again, it goes right back to foreclosure status as if you had never done anything."

Now, bring us to last week. I'm at the end stages of my refinance (because my rate was scheduled to go to adjustable in June and we were hoping to get some cash out to clear up the remaining debt from last year and hopefully put in hardwood floors because my childrens' allergies are very bad).

When all is said and done with Ocwen, my payoff is $5000.00 more than what my original mortgage was 2 years ago! Fees, Fees, Fees. And good luck trying to get someone who speaks ENGLISH!!! I asked to speak w/a supervisor about getting some of these fees reduced (as I had been instructed by the new lender, so obviously its possible if the LENDER told me to do it) supervisor is even MORE INDIAN than the first person (if that's possible). Then I ask to speak to someone higher up, I get cut off.

I call back and (after going through all the rig-a-ma-roll again) ask to speak w / a supervisor, I get cut off again.By now, I'm so steamed that I gave up because, the way I figure, at that point they still had the power to screw up this refi on me.

Incidently, I have previously had Fairbanks (who, through this site, I've found out are the same beast). I never had a problem w/Fairbanks but have received $300.00 from a similar class action suit against them. I hope we don't have to travel to Calcutta to reap the rewards.
