After closing Visa acct for the convenience of the new Banco Populars Mastercharge program, items were refused and counted agaihnst me as failure to pay as promised. Got that straight and then my bank acct visa debit was accessed; 159. Was used to open a visa acct (somewhere). Previously, other odd items were accessed and the acct should have been closed. I spent an hour and a half in the bank with, Mark True, whom had opened me a new acct., leavint 120.in the old to cover 2 items not yet paid. The bank continued to pay items, to date, charging me 22. Per item, now at 265. Overdrawn on a closed acct. The new acct. Has 750. Untouched. The previous time, earlier in Feb 05 was simular, over 200. That was returned to me.
My bank statements come to me in spanish...
I contacted the Comptroller of Currency to find that the bank is not a National Bank and not under jurisdiction, as such.
I had opened a secured Mastercard acct., with 1,500. @29.99 apr., charged 940. Something, and made an immediate payment, by check from the same bank, in the amt of 500. I went PhX AZ using the MC for insurance purposes [covered] for 4 days. I discoved that my cARD HAD BEEN REJECTED and I called to inquire. (Banco Pop will not credit ones acct for 15 bus days)- it mattered not that the check was drawn on their own bank, and that it had cleared, as well, on the next bus day (7 April 05). I attempted to make the payment by phone, but they wanted 15. For that too, and I was not informed of the waiting period, although they claim it is in the contract. Ergo, the problems with the checking acct., in the first place, after their take over from Quaker City Bank. Obviously, they agreed with me on their sillines; as I had mentioned, they credited the monies back and was supposed to close the checking acct., that is now racking up $'s as you read this.
I opened a new acct., with Citibank. I sent a check for $1,517.24 to the Banko Pop MC and had it closed. They charged me 39. For being over my 1500. Limit by 2.24 of which their withholding my payment of 500. Had caused. The have yet to refund my 1500. Security deposit.
