Ripped off with high overdraft and non-sufficient funds charges Ripoff

I opened an account with Compass rather than with my usually bank because of the free ATM fees and free checking. Little did I know that Compass from the get-go planned on making their money off the unsuspecting consumer in a much more devious way.

I was actually overdraft by about $9, despite what it looks like on this statement. Compass, to their satisfaction, managed to daily raise that amount to $191.

05/19 od charge $6.00
05/18 deposit $100.00
05/18 od charge $6.00
05/17 od charge 6.00
05/16 od charge $18.00
05/13 od charge $6.00
05/13 nsf charge $35.00
05/12 wendy's $10.41
05/12 nsf charge $35.00
05/12 nsf charge $35.00
05/11 heb grocery $13.14
05/11 nsf charge $35.00
05/11 fry's electronics $58.68
05/10 whataburger $23.32

As you can see, it looks like I was overdraft many times over.in fact it was the final Wendy's charge that pushed me over by $9.in return for that Compass (the central office in some other state) have penalised me with charges of $191. I called as soon as I got the postcard on 18th May (notice they don't make a phone call so that you can deposit funds immediately to cover it). They said they could reimburse nothing as it was not the bank's mistake. Would I like a supervisor to call back? Yes.
On Thursday 19th the call was to say that nothing would be done about the charges but if we deposited at least half the amount the fees would stop. As yo ucan see, they did not stop the overdraft charges then.

On Friday another supervisor called to say they would be kind enough to cancel $35 (still hasn't happened). I said I may as well close the account and go to Wells Fargo, who have always treated me well, to which they retorted, then why should we cancel any of your charges. They have this very skewed policy that they don't have to treat any new customer well until the consumer has been a member for over 6 months.

As a previous member says, Compass don't time the deposits and charges in the sane way other banks do. They fix it so that you appear overdraft before you are.in my opinion, I was only overdraft once, which should be charged the $6 OD fee and the $35 NSF fee, and I should have had a courtesy call to warn me that I was OD. I would have immediately been able to deposit enough to cover that. Now I am $191 out of personal funds and should only be out by $41.

Compass need to change their policies in major ways if they want happy customers who can trust them. I would fax this to their offices now but they conveniently have not added their fax number to my account page.
