It's a trap

Talking with all the different cable companies and comparing apples to apples, I was satisfied with DirectTV. It was only going to be $49.99/mo and we would get a free DVR for our one year with the service. The bill came and it was $79.99. I called and asked why it was $30 more than we talked about. They said that is a special promotional price and it wasn't in the computer system at all that I qualified. Ok. I let it go because we already had the service and our DVR. When I went to ensure I wouldn't get billed past my one year, I was told that they had me on a two year contract. I knew full well that I was only living in my location for a year and would never have signed up for a two year contract. They didn't care, they just wanted to offer me NFL Sunday package to make it all better. I'm already out of my apartment with new roommates who already have a service. So I'm going to be charged per month for the early termination fee. I already have paid $30/month more than I agreed to and now I have to pay for another year that I also did not agree to. This is called a scam. They conned me into their service under false pretext and now are charging me for it. I have no money and no way of retaliating. It we who have only three digits in our bank account who this matters to and it's we who don't have the means or access to fight back. They stole from me and we're even nice about it. It's frustrating talking to someone who is only reading a script back to you. There is no customer service here. Get Comcast or Dish. DirectTV will lure you in with empty promises and then treat you like a sucker.
