I was evicting a tenant when I called an Allstate agent at 610-494-4094 during the week of 9/15/11 and said I would inspect the apartment. I was having problems getting in, because water was getting inside the apartment. I had the roof cleaned off, and the agent never sent an inspector.
On Nov 1 I got inside and called the Allstate agent again. I said there was water damage in the house. He said I was not covered and never sent an inspection agent to my house, yet on Dec 31 my policy went up by $216.38.
When I received my tax refund, on 4/10 I got an adjuster, a contractor and mold inspectors, and they found that my insurance policy should have had someone sent to my house and that I had policy coverage. When the adjuster contacted Allstate, they raised my policy on 5/16 by $453.11, and they are still refusing to fix my house.
I contacted the insurance commissioner of Pennsylvania and they said to get a lawyer. If I had lawyer money, I could fix my home. How do I pay a $60.00 higher mortgage? It went from $820.00 to $880.00, and the mold and water damage has made my home unlivable. I have 1 year to settle this problem and I do not have the time or money to solve this matter. I am a disabled veteran with limited funds, and any help you can give would be appreciated.
