My 97 years old, WWII father has been a faithful customer for almost 20 years. Bills paid on time and in full. Early 2013 both boxes quit working. Two boxes were sent, but couldn't be installed. After three hours with India, North Carolina and Arizona, Arizona got them working, and offered six free months of Starz and Cinemax. For two months they were free, then $13.00 appears on the statement. I called the 800 number, and the guy said to deduct that amount and pay the normal monthly rate. Which I did. The next month there is the $13.00 dollars again. I spent two hours arguing with a supervisor on the phone, who said the amount is owed. I said I would pay the regular monthly rate, but nothing more. She said she deducted the amount, but as of September 16, the $13.00 is there AND a LATE FEE of $7.00 is being charged too!!! On September 17 my e-mail says from Dish the statement is PAST DUE. PAY IMMEDIATELY or we will disconnect your service. Seriously? We did not order this service, it was offered for FREE due to the three hours of trying to get the boxes installed. If anybody steps onto our private property, there will be ramifications with Dish paying for trespassing on private property. I don't threaten lightly, but my father is in ill health and enjoys the programs offered by Dish, but he is NOT going to be forced to pay for something offered for free!
