United Airlines Gave Away Our Seats... Twice!
United Airlines Gave Away our Seats Twice! No Apology... Nothing! - Ticket reservations, insisted I bring tools for my wheelchair... Then stole them!

We recently flew United to Singapore. It was a nightmare from the very beginning. As I am in a wheelchair, I paid extra for the Economy Plus seats. When we were checking in at O'Hare, we were told we didn't have a reservation, and the flight was full. We had confirmed our reservation just the day before. We explained we had to get to Singapore that day, as we were taking a cruise. They got us on another flight, assuring us we had seats in Economy Plus. Because I was in a wheelchair that was being checked in, they had me board last. Once on the plane, they looked confused and stated they didn't have a seat for me. They said they would have to look and do some rearranging. I heard the flight attendent tell another one "I told them they shouldn't give those seats away". Apparently, they gave another couple our Plus seats. We ended up in economy for the 12 hour flight. I was told, this (giving away seats/double booking seats) was happening a lot since the merger with Continental. This was inexcusable, and caused me physical pain. To add insult to injury, at their insistance I attached my bag of tools onto my wheelchair. Just as I had feared, the chair made it to Singapore, my bag of tools did not! We were flying on to Bali on a different airline. They were supposed to meet me at the gate with my wheelchair; they didn't. Our luggage and my wheelchair were missing. The workers at the United desk refused to help us locate it. They refused to even plone lost & found to see if they were there. Hours later, an airport employee took my husband down to lost and found... There was our luggage and my chair. I will never fly United again!!!
