Thrown Out of Hotel for Complaining

I was paying a weekly rate as I was in town for job interviews. My first night there the couple in an adjoining room were up all night until 5:30 A.M. Smoking, arguing, and playing the TV loudly. I am allergic to cigarette smoke. I had a lung disease called histoplasmosis and second-hand smoke is very harmful to me. I specifically asked and paid for a non-smoking room.By the fifth day I was very sick and had not had any sleep and all my clothes reeked of cigarette smoke. I finally complained, and the receptionist came into my room and confirmed it was full of smoke. I came to find out that the maintenance man and his wife live in that room full time. He started harassing me, calling me a b*. I moved to a room down the hall where the same thing happened again. My back was out and I had to move 3 suitcases, a large box, and two othe bags by myself just to have the same situation. This whole wing of the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. I had a cough, chest pains, sore throat, headaches, and could not sleep. I did not get the job I went there for, and I am sure it's mostly because I looked and smelled like h*. The manager, Herman, came to my room yelling at me that I was disturbing the "nice gentleman" next door. He forced me to leave the hotel with nowhere to go, move my stuff for the third time with a bad back, called the police to escort me off the property. My room was surrounded by cops. I have never seen anything so ridiculous! I was discriminated against for being a single woman. I'm sure the same thing would not have happened to a man. At the very least, this hotel should be fined for allowing people to smoke in non-smoking rooms. I have legitimate health issues and rights as a paying customer. I will hire a lawyer for this, as I lost a $50,000 a year job because of one man's ego and the good-ole-boys club.
