I recently purchased a 4 night stay in using Priceline.com's Name Your Price feature.
The winning bid was a Westin property.initially I was delighted, but when I checked Westin's web site, I was dismayed to discover that Westin has gone smoke free on their properties.
I don't have any problems with getting a non-smoking room at any hotel, in my mind, there's a difference between being assigned a smoke free room and staying at a facility that is entirely smoke free. I don't travel a lot, but I assumed (wrongly) that public spaces within the hotels (restaurants & lounges) would have a designated smoking areas. Prior to placing my bid, I checked Priceline's First Time Users section, and nothing was mentioned that there are some hotels that are entirely smoke free.
That tidbit of information would have prevented me for using Priceline. Calls to Priceline were totally yielding. They didn't share my opinion that there's a difference between being assigned a smoke free room from being assigned a smoke free hotel.
