Rip-off Travel Package in 4 star resort 7 day 6 nites in Ft Lauderdale

In March while still living in NY, we received this exceptional vacation offer from Ramada Plaza Resorts, a well respected name. Not even taking it on face value, I refused to deal with them until I could call them back to verify they were who they said they were.

This done we than paid $318 for this package which was to include our choice of 4days 3 nites in Ft Lauderdale or Orlando and an additional 5 days 4 nites in either location or all the time in one locattion; we would be in a 4 star resort and could then have 4 days and 3 nites in Law Vegas and our choice of a rental car or two adult two day passes to Universal Studio.
We received the vouchers some 3 months later and found in

Order to make the reservations we needed to send an additional $38; we did this and made reservations for7days and six nights in Ft. Lauderdale. I don't even want to go into the problems I had in getting this travel voucher for the correct location, but after 6 phone calls, we did receive it.

Well I must tell you it is Jan 6 and we are back home after having checked in on Jan 5. First we find out that this so called 4 star resort is nothing more than a very run down Ramada about 12 miles from the beach and in a run down area of town. The mattress should have been thrown out decades ago and the room and halls actually smelled foul.

We complained and they "upgraded" s to a suite so we could have a mini kitchen. Well have you ever tried to figure out what you do with a mini kitchen with absolutely no dishes, pan or utensils? Then we are told our voucher is only good for 3 days and in order to get the remainder we had to sit thru a time share presentation, okay we could do that, but we had to drive back to Palm Beach, over an hour for the presentation; and oh yes, you have to pay $12 a night for taxes. We then attempted to get our Universal Studio passes this morning and were told they didn't have any there.

They didn't know but we would have to go to their Welcom Center in Orlando and go to another time share presentation for that. At this point we checked out, told them what to do with their package and plan on filing further complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. The are con artists personified and after they make the sale I have found all of their representatives rude and crude.
