My best friend and I took this vacation in May. We spent 3 nights in Ft. Lauderdale and 3 nights in Orlando. We went to a timeshare presentation that was an hour from Ft. Lauderdale. The 90 minute presentation became a 4 hour ordeal. After the presentation we were not given the tickets to Universal studios as promised. We were then informed that we would be required to attend another presentation once we got to Orlando. So we had to attend another 4 hour ordeal in Orlando. The hotel rooms were average Ramada Inn rooms that don't cost more than $79 a night, NOT the 5-star resort accomodations that we were promised.
We did NOT receive the 2-day Universal Studios passes that we were promised. We had to pay taxes on the hotel and rental car. Plus we had to keep the rental car filled with gas. We had to pay for airfare to and from Florida. We had to pay for our own meals and all other personal expenses.
Recently, my husband received $1600 in travel vouchers for this exact same vacation. It stated very clearly in the fine print on the back of the voucher that the traveler is only responsible for hotel and rental car taxes, transportation to and from Florida, and personal expenses. When we called to get details, we were informed after a lengthy conversation that the vacation would ONLY cost $698 per person and we were assured that we would be staying at 5-star resorts, Yeah right! Again, we were looking at a $3000 vacation. I am not going to make that mistake again. The supervisor informed us that we were idiots for not thinking this was such a great deal!
This vacation is NOT a good deal. This ended up being about a $3000 vacation for 2 college students.
