I purchased a golf discount book from Costco that included a FREE 3-day 2-night getaway, provided by Encenta Promotions. The restrictions / conditions to claim yor FREE getaway are laughable. It is obvious this company does not want you to use your certificate. I usually would steer clear of deals like this, but in a moment of insanity, I trusted Costco.
FREE, the book was $60.00, deposit $50.00, booking fee $24.00. Also, if I dont show up for my free getaway, I get charged a full nights stay. What would that rate be $200.00?
I had to pick 3 dates, 2 weeks apart, and as I should have anticipated I got my last choice. I haven't stayed yet, but I might this September unless I want my credit card charged a nights stay. I am supposed to get my $50.00 deposit back, I think. Here is what my comformation letter says.
Within 90 days from completing your travel, simply mail a copy of this conformation letter back to the address below, and your $50.00 deposit will be returned.
Does this mean 90 days before or after I travel? Also, the sentence above follows the sentence that states; No rebooking, the $24.00 rebooking fee is nonrefundable, should you need to cancel your reservation.
Confused, me too. My recommendation, if you have the stomach, don't let this company berate you into submission. Demand delivery of what this company sold you. However, I would never do business with this sham company in the future!
