I wanted to book an international flight for my father-in-law, so I called Orbitz which I used for many tickets before (but never had to make any changes). So I called them to find the ticket I wanted. I asked for a ticket that, if needed I could change the departure date on, and asked them what charges I would have to pay if I did need to make the changes. The representative told me 170 dollars for them, and the difference of the ticket charge. I asked them THREE times if the ticket they are offering could have the departure date changed, and THREE times they answered YES YES YES. So I purchase it, and it so happened that I did have to change the departure date on that ticket. LIE: I call to change it they say,: "I'm sorry this ticket can not have any changes made." Me: What?" Orbitz: Yes, ma'am that is correct, no changes can be made."... And so I explained how I specifically asked for a ticket that I could change the departure date, and so they finally offered to make changes, (trying to R_O_B ME BLIND): FOR 2,900 MORE, WHEN THE TICKET ALONE COST 1,200 ROUNDTRIP!!! I literally had to sit a minute when they told me. I thought I was a part of a funny home video or something and the secret cameras will show themselves any second. CHEAT: When I realized that they weren't joking, I told them to check the phone logs because they told me they could, to see that I was sold that ticket under false pretenses that I would be able to make changes to it, even after I asked several times to make sure. They said that the phone call does not exist. Two minutes after I was told that I could make changes for the 2,900 dollars, on the same call with the same supervisor, after I asked her to send me an email that this is what they were asking to make changes to my ticket, she said that offer does not exist, and that she didn't offer me anything. I must have heard a voice in my head!?! Now, if you have no need for money, especially in this economy, CALL ORBITZ for a ticket, cruise or hotel stay, only beware, and make sure that you have triple the money that they ask for at the beginning, because God Forbid, you need to make changes, YOU WILL NEED IT, so you won't have to get a second loan from the bank to pay them. Like I said RUNNN from Orbitz, anywhere else.
