I purchase an airline ticket through Orbitz for United, Houston-Redding Houston. Outbound flight was August 31st/return flight November 20th
I missed the outbound flight and made it there driving
Since that date until now I received numerous emails from Orbitz regarding the status of my flight, never informing me that the flight was cancelled. Today I attempted to confirm my flight with United and they told me that the ticket was cancelled both ways when I did not show for the outbound flight. I had to pay a hefty sum to re-buy the the ticket.
If Orbitz would have informed me at any moment that the ticket has been cancelled I would have purchased a ticket at much lower price.
By keeping me 'informed" of something did not exist anymore they made me lose money
