Will not use Orbitz again... What a joke! Having received a booked itinerary confirmation from Orbitz is no guarantee that you actually have a confirmed reservation. I booked an international trip for my wife only to find out later that Orbitz experienced a "failed booking". Our trip was paid for and Orbitz had already sent us a booked itinerary confirmation, complete with airline record locator codes. After receiving the booked itinerary confirmation from Orbitz, I contacted one of the airlines being used on the trip only to be told by the airline that the specific record locator code I provided was not valid. I immediately contacted Orbitz only to be told that the reservation had been cancelled and that I must have initiated the cancellation. When I escalated this to an Orbitz supervisor, the supervisor admitted that Orbitz had experienced a "failed booking" and had cancelled all the airline reservations for the trip. Orbitz said they would initiate a full refund and it would be my responsibility to make re-booking arrangements. 13 hours after this occurred I finally received an email from Orbitz saying there was a problem.in 13 hours time, seat availability and pricing changes but that did not seem to matter to Orbitz. I can only conclude that international air travel reservations are beyond Orbitz' limited capabilities.
