No REFUNDS From Orbitz! Even with Insurance! - airline tickets

I canceled tickets to Hawaii and figured that because I had bought insurance, I could refund the tickets if I needed to. NOT THE CASE! I was told the money I spent on the tickets would go to "future use" but because I would be changing the tickets, when I get new tickets I will have to pay 2 fees, $150 per ticket & a $60 fee. I will also have to go through that specific airline or they will charge more money. The representatives were not helpful at all because they couldn't answer some of my questions, but told me I would have to call the airline directly and if I wanted to find out about my insurance I would have to call a third party company.

It really should not be this difficult to cancel a trip... Definitely not worth the trouble!
