We sent an application to Academic Evaluation Services to evaluate an international high school transcript so my cousin could attend college in the US. We called prior to submitting the application to verify that the Engish translation we were providing would be adequate.
After receiving the application, AES says they sent two automated emails to my cousin informing her that the translation had to be done by an internationally certified translator. My cousin says she did not receive the emails.
We found out about the problem when I called AES to find out why the college had not received the evaluation. The delay ended up costing my cousin the opportunity to study in the US.
To add insult to injury, Academic Evaluation Services refused to refund the $110 fee, under their "no cancellations, no refunds" policy. Even though the sum total of their work was two automated emails.
Do yourself a favor: Look for a company that only expects to be paid if they do the work.
