Angie's List is a joke! I own my own drain cleaning business and do very well. I have a large client base and many plumbers that use our services. I have also wasted thousands of dollars with online advertising. As for Angie's list it is a complete joke! I have been a paid member for almost a year. I pay a total of $442 a month to be on their list. How much do you think my company generates from this advertising? Not even half of what I pay! The funny thing is I keep seeing the commercials about contractors cant pay to be on Angielist which is a flat out lie and misleading. I am in contract with them and to cancel early they take 35% of whats left for the year. I tried to cancel last week and I would have to pay around $1000 to cancel. Fine! I want out I told them. So then I start to get the phone calls telling me their sorry and they can give me more areas to make me feel better. Its been well over 2 weeks since then and guess what? No calls or business from it. I since have been billed another $442 and I still have to pay the 1000. Thanks Angie for ripping me off and leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I will be sure to spread the work to every contractor or small business owner I know.
