I went to the Gap in Circle Center Mall, Indianapolis, Indiana and found a pair of pants on the sale rack. When I inquired about the price they came up as $60. When I asked how much they used to be if that was a sale price, the manager said "it's not my fault if some customer puts them back in the wrong place." As if customers are the lowest form of being.
I told him I had not seem them anywhere else in the store. He walked over to an overstuffed rack where there was one other pair (same color - because we all know that different colors cost different prices?!?!?!? Are you kidding me.) The similar pair was marked $32.99! He proceeded to tear off that sticker and tell me "the computer is always right."
I continued to shop and then overheard another customer at the check out say "that price isn't what your sign said." So he overrode the price for her even thought the computer is always right! That stinks and is unfair!
It is not the first time items have been priced incorrectly at a Gap store. Usually the manager honors the lower price, however, Ethan, the manager, decided in one case the computer was right and in another it was wrong.
Worse yet, I called a completely unhelpful customer service representative who apparently forgot she was in customer service and proceeded to tell me that this complaint would go into some computer black hole. She didn't even ask my name!
I am a loyal customer who has had enough. I am tired of the giant 50% off sign outside the store and the tiny "on selected items" written below. I took a look inside the store and there were two different things for women marked down 50% - two in the entire store!!!
So bummed to have to drop a brand I have been loyal to for so long!
