I ordered a top, costing $19.00, from this company. The cost to me was: $19.00 for the article of clothing, $l. 95 for handling, $3.95 for shipping. Total: $24.90. This was charged to my visa card. I decided to return the top in the original shipping bag. When I received my visa card statement, I was given only $13.04 credit not the full $19.00 for the article of clothing. I realize the shipping and handling charges were not refundable.
When I called Newport News to ask why I was not given the full credit, the supervisor, curtly told me, that's the way it is when you return the clothing in the companies bag.
I find that very poor business. I am now out $5.95. I don't take lightly to be ripped off! I want that $5.95 credited to my account. If I owe that for mailing, then send me a bill for that amount, don't take it out of the money that I charged to my visa account. This is just ourtageous and needs to be changed. This company has made a profit of over $11.45 profit on my order of $19.00. Simply put: Newport News is ripping off its customers when a return is transacted and making a sizeable profit instead.
