I placed an order for a clothing item back in june '08 with this company. I don't remember-i may have tried a coupon. I ended up returning the item.in october i noticed a charge for 'insider club', which i didn't recognize. I called the phone number associated with the charge on my online bank statement. It was

I looked back at my account and i had been charged
14.95 for the last 4 months. (since i may my purchase). I called them and asked what this is for. The rep said, "oh you authorized us to charge you for this insider club" "we charge you monthly and oh, by the way if you don't like it you can cancel anytime".
I wonder how many other customers have been charged these fees for this ridiculous service (it's a magazine/catalog) so you can buy clothing/items. Get it—i'm supposted to pay them to buy what i want. Now that's original.
Needless to say i stopped right away (getting a confirmation number). I called back and informed them they were not authorized to charge me and i would like a refund for these charges. I was denied.
Newport-news is a suspect company. Consumers give there charge numbers for merchandise only to be ripped off by a scheme to join a club to receive catalogs to buy stuff. No one in their right mind would pay a company to receive flyers in order to purchase items.
This company is a rip-off. Warning to all!!!
I also contacted my bank and they are pursuing my complaint.
I am also contacting better business bureau.
