Rumson, Bolling & Associates is a collection agency that uses the debt owed to you as a way of scaring/scamming/tricking you into cutting them a check. Within days of you forwarding a debt to them for collection, they will call you to claim that the debtor is extremely stand-offish and refuses to pay. They will spend the next weeks/months convincing you that "litigation" is the only way to recover your money.
The amount of money RBA and their "Forwarding Company" will charge you for litigation depends on how quickly you say yes. It will start off high (thousands), but ultimately will settle in the hundreds of dollars range. But the $750 (amount I paid for litigation) isn't the ultimate scam. They will call again claiming that default judgment has been awarded but $1100-$1200 more is needed for the attorneys to proceed with garnishments, etc. I refused to pay that, and they became VERY agitated and aggressive towards me. The man on the phone read my banking account number (which he got off of the check I gave them) to me over the phone and basically insinuated that he would pass it along to a third party who could "do anything they want with it." I immediately shut down that account. My bank told that a day after I shut the account down, a EFT in for over $250,000 was attempted on that account.
DO NOT refer any debt to RBA for collection. If they ever solicit you, hang up the phone.
