I feel I am being ripped off by Monitronics.
In March there was a power glitch in S.L. City and it knocked out my Sec. System. One of Monitronics repair persons came out and supposedly fixed and reprogramed it. I was billed for $25 which I paid.
In May I tried to use the system and when I turned it on, it refused to turn off, causing the alarm to scream.
I called Monitronics, and also notified the guard service that this was not an emergency, but a faulty system, giving my password and everything necessary. Their so called "guard service" came out anyway, and I confirmed that I had called and there was no emergency.
Today, I get another bill for $25. Called Monitronics and they said since the security people came to my house I owed the $25 and that was final. They are using their special security to get more money from their customers.
I called them twice more and they refused to cancel the bill.
Second problem, my contract is up Aug. I wrote them a letter June 6 cancelling my service and sent it certified mail. When I called today, they say they never rec'd it, even tho I gave them the tracking #. They insist I resend everything in or they would not cancel my contract.
I've had no security system since March and have paid thru the end of Aug. Today, July 1, I sent another copy of the letter I wrote and the USPS card with their signature. Hope something can be done so others don't get ripped off by this unscrupulous corp.
I am waiting to see what happens after I send proof of cancellation.
