I paid 450 bucks for a Paving job, that is just gravel and sand mix. They claim it has Ardex in it and it will harden. It has been over 48 hours and there has been no hardening. The Ardex corporation has informed me that they have no product that would be applied in this manner. They also got two of my neighbors with the same thing. They were doing my neighbor's drive and I approached them for an estimate on the area I wanted paved. They said they would have extra on the truck from the job they were doing and they could do mine that night. While they were doing mine, another neighbor approached them and they still had enough extra to do that drive also. When I paid they told me to write the Check to Diane Vines. I asked who this was and was told she was the owner.
I talked to both sets of neighbors today—one paid @500, the other $4000. Noone's is hardening like we were told "hard like concrete."
I called several times yesterday and at least 6 times today. Finally at 9:30, I got a phone call back. Guy said he would come over tomorrow and look at it and he would make sure it "got hard.
After saying he would come over, he said he wanted
to look at that van" that he likes how it pops up. (The VW) Then he asked, "you live there alone don't you" I lied and said no and he asked who lives here, I said my boyfriend and he asked ""what time does he leave, when will he be gone?" This made me suspicious, so I said "What does that... Matter" His response was "oh, I thought he and I could look at it together"
I thought the neighbor had hired this company, but found out today.
Found out today that the company came into the neighborhood and drove up to their house saying "we're doing a job in the area and have extra on the truck and just thought we'd see if you wanted your driveway done."
another person from the company called me (yep, at 11:30 at night) and just doesn't understand why I'm not happy "If you were parking on grass and now you have this nice area..." I couldn't get across to him that I am not happy because the product is NOT what they said it was!!!
Noone came by the next day as they said. Upon further investigation, I found that the Diane's Drive address is an empty mobile home. I did find the office for Pop's Pavement on Holmes Drive in Bessemer (not sure about the number) I was not allowed into the office, was told they lived there. Once again received empty promises of coming by to fix the problem.
The Better Business Bureau has this company listed at the Dianne's Drive address (the empty mobile home) although, according to the phone book, Diane Vines I (who I wrote the check to) lives in that same neighborhood. The better business bureau has Teddy Lee listed as the primary contact for this company.
