Before these experiences, i shopped at best buy all the time. Earlier this year, i was looking to purchase a home theater system.
I had chosen a sony model, and decided to buy it at best buy because of my previous experiences. When i went to the first store, i searched for a salesperson for 15 minutes and could not find anyone. Finally, i went back into the department and saw two guys leaning on the counter. I asked for their help and they continued chatting. I asked a second time, and got no response. I finally asked for a manager to be called over so that i could get some help, only to find that one of these idiots was a manager. I left the store, thinking that another best buy would be better. I went to two more, and had the same experiences at both.
I wrote this so that consumers will know that best buy does not care about your dollar in this unstable economy. I understand that my $500 purchase would not make a difference to a ceo, but a company that prides itself on its customer service sucks does not cut it when it comes down to it.
I would have been treated better buying a home theater out of someone's trunk in a back alley.
