I have been dealing with Direct TV for several years, since about 2002.in the beginning it was a wonderful relationship. I had Comcast and they were charging megabucks at the time.
Then, I get a call saying my account is "linked" to someone else and I have to pay THEIR balance (my ex-husbands) who took the boxes and moved. I tried to fight it saying that the balance would have shown up when I got my own Direct TV installed but they weren't budging. So I paid the $110.
NOW I am having issues getting an overpaid amount back from them.
I paid twice, in error believe me, the amount of $93.71. Ironically this happened when I took a survey that popped up about the quality of their customer service.
I called Sept 30th as soon as it happened. I was informed it would take 8 days to get the money back. No matter what I did or said it was 8 days. Fine.
I call back the 7th (the 8th day) and I was THEN told it was 8 BUSINESS days. Talk about getting frustrated!
Well, now I am totally frustrated! I called back TODAY, the 8th BUSINESS day and guess what?
I had TWO people tell me it was 10-12 BUSINESS days. I lost it. I had three supervisors on the phone. Finally one saw how mishandled my account was. One "resolution specialist" actually yelled and talked OVER me as I was trying to speak. They resolve and are a specialist of NOTHING!
I asked why everyone has a different answer. Don't they have training? Further more, they charged me $10 to CANCEL HBO! Their response was because I had it 30 days or less-I had it for over three years!!!
The third supervisor I spoke to apologized and they refunded the $10 charge and he said he would work with finance to get it into my account by tomorrow at the latest.
I know what they are waiting for-another bill to generate-which generates AS SOON AS YOU PAY YOUR BILL.
I am so frustrated! Why do I have to keep chasing them to return my money? Suppose I told them THEY would receive their money in 10-12 business days? They would shut off my service!!!
Do yourself a favor and do NOT order Direct TV. It is not worth the hassle.
