AVC America's Value Channel
Failed to credit part of return. Nasty costumer service people. Estremely long wait on long distance hold

I am disabled, and unable to shop outside my home very often. While watching America's Value Channel on TV one day, I saw what I thought was a good bargain on gifts for my daughter. The dates on these orders was February 15th and 16th of 2008.

I ordered almost $600 worth of merchandise, but when I received it, it was extremely poor quality and I decided to return it. I called and got RMA numbers as the company had requested and sent the items back with delivery confirmation.

After confirming that the returned items had all been received, I checked my credit card balance numerous times and the items were not credited back. I made numerous calls asking why my returns had not been credited back. The wait on hold at one of those times was over an hour. I was told they had 30 days to credit them back, which would be April 17th.

At another time, I waited 40 minutes and when a customer service rep came on she promised that a manager wold call me back. That call never came.

Finally, after 6 phone calls, at a high cost to me, part of my order was credited back on April 17th. $ 189 was still showing, although the item had been returned, and they had confirmed it's receipt.

On April 28th, I called and spoke with a very rude manager who informed me that there was a certain process they had to go through to refund the rest of my return since one of their employees had made a mistake and overlooked one of my returns.

I am still waiting for the $189 credit. My biggest concern now is that any company this dishonest may use my credit card without my consent. This entire process has been extremely hard on me because of my disability, and I am not sure what recourse I have.

My limited income makes every dollar important, and I hate living in fear that someone will use my credit card. I would appreciate any help that anyone could offer. I can't afford any more phone calls to them.
