Lane Bryant On Line Store
Personalized return policy?

I have shopped with this company for years, usually online because I have a very busy life and getting into a store is sometimes just impossible. I recently placed an order online, received it about a week later, the quality of their clothing has just gotten so bad I decided not to keep any of it because it was not worth the astronomical prices they charge for clothes made in some sweat shop overseas. So I paid to have it sent back by fed-ex and sent it on it's way. I get several emails about a week or so later that they have received the items I returned and it will be credited back to my credit card, may take up to two billing cycles to show... The usual thing. Then I get another email the next day telling me about my e-gift card that my returns were credited to, excuse me? Thinking there had been a mistake I drop an email to customer service. No, no mistake, according to them I waited too long to send things back and because of that I get store credit, not a refund. This is not ok with me, I authorized the charge for the clothing, not for a gift card, I no longer have this clothing. I should have my money back on my charge card. So I keep emailing back and forth with customer service, who by the way must not be allowed to say more then 3 words to a customer because they never do. The girl sends me a link to their return policy, ok, nowhere on that policy does it say anything about online order returns and having a time limit. It says there is a 60 day policy on in-store purchases, not online purchases. What ever happened to customer service? What ever happened to the customer is always right? I'm not asking for cash here, I just want the money credited back to my credit card, but this seems to be something they can not comprehend. You would think with the current state of the economy they would want to keep as many customers as they can. It's bad enough they charge the prices they do for the poor craftsmanship they provide, the least I can expect is some respect and someone to actually take 3 minutes to help me out. I guess if I had a job making 10 dollars and hour to answer emails all day I might be a little bitter about it too, but that's not my problem, I just want my money back.
