I moved to Florida from California recently and had my dish moved. When I got here and tried installing the dish, they told me I could not install the dish here AT ALL because I would not receive any signal. When I called DirecTV to see what could be done, they told me that I could do nothing about it, so I told them to cancel the service. They told me that I would have to pay nearly $300 in cancellation fees!
I find this absolutely ludicrous! They themselves accepted that I cannot install my dish here and now they refuse to cancel my service, telling me instead that "I have a choice on where I move." Is this serious? There are many factors I consider when I choose for a place to live, including safety, crime, good schools, and parks, certainly not if i can install my dish here or not!
When I called several times, the Customer Service rep was extremely rude on the phone, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, they hung up on me! This happened every single time I called! I am still waiting to speak to someone who is able to give me straight answers without the attitude or rudeness.
I DO NOT reccomend this service to anyone! And I will certainly never use their services again!
