We had first installed Dish network back to March in Albuqerque, New Mexico. We had then moved to Chandler, Phoenix one week ago. We used Dish move program. Tuesday, the technician came to our apartment and tried to install the dish but failed because of the poor signal. He said he could not put the dish there at all. We then scheduled another tech to come over on Friday to do the 2nd check. He told us that we could only get 3 channels. I had then called the customer rep on phone and Joy, the supervisor insisted that I had to terminate the contract by paying the penalty charge. I told her it was not my fault at all but she said there was nothing that she could do about it. I had told Joy that I would file complaint against Dish Network but she said she didn't care about people filing complaint against Dish Network at all. Since I didn't agree to terminate the contract because it would make me pay the penalty, I compromised by putting up those 3 channels only. I want to make 4 major complaints against the tech and the customer service:
1. When the first time we installed the dish (we were still in Albuquerque at that time), Nill (the tech) forgot to install the dish properly on the roof and it was loosed and almost fell down from the roof. Also, the dish lost the signal many times because of this It was a serious safety hazard problem. How could Dish network send some untrained tech to our house and risk their consumers' life? It is not a good business practice. Later on, Nill's manager came to our house and fixed the problem. 2. This Monday, the tech came over and told us there was no signal and there was no way to install a dish here at all. The customer rep tried to force us to terminate the contract by paying the penalty. Luckily I was smart enough by not doing this. The reason is the tech came to our house today and said that he could put up 3 channels for us. It makes us feel like there is some sort of conspiracy here such as Dish network tried to make us to pay the money without installing a dish. 3. The tech that came in today was looking at my confidential documents on my laptop. That violated my privacy. Also, he unplugged all DVD cables which connected to my TV, what was up with that? He also kept saying that he gotta go and tried to leave without solving the problem. He made my wife to sign the document and actually I am the customer on the contract, not my wife so this service agreement should not be valid. We were paying 29.99 dollars for the great wall package and he was supposed to install the right dish. The reason that he didn't want to fulfill the customer's request is he believed there would be no signal at all, that is why he only installed one dish without other 2 receivers. But we paid for the great wall package and we deserved to have him to at least give it a try. The main reason is, the first tech told us there was no signal and the 2nd tech said there was signal for some channels, what they said are not consistent at all and how do we know who is telling the truth? It does make us feel that the information we got from them are not reliable at all. He should at least install the receivers and give it a try but he insisted not giving it a try and not fulfilling our customer request and service that we have been paying for 4. We had called customer service numerous times and they dropped our call 70% of the time. Also, the rep were all not professionally trained at all because they never give us what we wanted. Their service manager Pamela and the reps promised to sent us a supervisor to come over and install the dish today but turned out that he was a regular tech. All promises that customer service dept provided are lies??
