Free Install Claim Became $75 Fee, Dish Left After Cancelling

I ordered DirecTV satellite service with Qwest, and they said it was a free install.

Then the DirecTV install person showed up and said it was $75. I said, "They told me free install?" He said, "OK, I can take $40 if you pay me with cash." (Very suspicious.)

We also found the order was incorrect and he did not have the DVR receiver I ordered. So I just said forget it and cancel the order.

DTV would not remove the ugly dish. I have spent 50 hours on the phone trying to have them come get their new dish for the sake of recycling. They said, "We don't remove dishes, and if they did, they would just throw it away." They told me to "remove it and throw it out." This is very irresponsible in this day and age, not recycling perfectly good metal and 45' of cable wires, etc. I would never order anything from Qwest or DirecTV again.

What a joke of a company!
