I ordered flowers for my wife to be delivered to her office on Valentine's day from FTD.com. I received an email confirming my order, the delivery address, the day, etc. Shortly thereafter, my credit card had been charged.
When my wife got home from work, I asked her if she left her roses at work, and she said "what roses?!". Needless to say I was frustrrated. So, i pulled up the confirmation email and went to work trying to find out what had happened, as I had not received any communication from FTD indicating they would not or had not delivered.
Upon checking the website via the "check the status of your order" link, it indicated they were unable to provide a status.
I then called the 800-Send-FTD number and hit option 2 to check the status of an order, the message was shocking. "Due to extrodinairly high call volume, and the holiday rush, we are unable to provide a status of your order, please check again later."
I then called back, and hit option 3, to speak to customer service representative. This message was far more shocking than the last: "Due to extrodinarily high call volume, we are unable to take your call at this time, please try back later".
Needless to say, a large.com with the type of marketing horsepower they have, ought to have the ability to que callers, staff up accordingly, etc.
This morning, I have tried back, and both the internet and telephone order status mechanisms still say they can't provide a status, and the calling que is still so busy they can't take my call, but now its a fast busy signal. They have not reversed the credit card charges.
I reccomend you never do business with FTD, as they clearly are more interested in driving revenue, than they are with delivery a quality product, or delivery any product for that matter.
