I cancelled my Capital One Credit Card in early August of after returning from vacation. When I received the bill I paid it in full to avoid any more interest, although I was currently trying to get a refund on my rental car bill which was more than quoted.
The rental car company researched my concerns agreed we had been over charged and credited back $1264.55. This credit showed up on the next bill so I called the credit card company and asked how long it should be before I receive a check. The original response was one full cycle with no charges. This being a cancelled card I expected no charges. The next billing cycle still no check just the same old credit balance, I again called and was told that it would be 90 days from the day I cancelled.
I waited the 90 days and still no check just the credit balance on the statement.
I called and they said I should receive the check by my next statement date.
My next statement I again had a credit balance and no check, I called and was told It hadn't been 90 days, just give it a little more time.
The next statement in December still no check and the same credit balance, this time I called and the supervisor informed me she showed the credit balance but when she tried to issue a check something made her think the "Check is in the Mail". So I should be receiving it.
I received my statement for January today, no check and the same credit balance, I again called and was informed that a hold had been placed on my account because when I cancelled the card they had been getting ready to raise the interest rates on all accounts (I was aware of this because that was why we cancelled the card), I asked why this had anything to do with me getting my money and got nothing but a run around, but was told they would inform someone??? And I should be getting my money!!! What kind of company is this? If I hadn't paid my bill in almost 6 months they would be going crazy, but I have to wait for my money! Who can I report them to this can't possible be right.
