Didn't apply payments and credits correctly. Now they say I owe $577.60 due to double charging me. Trenton

In May I added Direct TV (through Verizon). Since then it has been a nightmare. They have double charged me for the converter box. I paid one month and then they billed me for the same amount as a past due plus the usual monthly bill. I have contacted several people since May and have gotten the run around about my charges. I was told it would take up to 3 months to get all of my credits adjusted on my bill. But every month I get a new bill I never see a credit amount. I call again and get another (know-it-all) on the phone and they tell me they cant see any credits due me. I also had a person call Direct TV and go over my whole bill. At that time they realized verizon wasnt posting the payments on time. Direct TV was paid in full although my verizon bill says I owe $577. I cant get a straight answer from anyone. YOu never speak to the same person. Now they are going to suspend my service on the 17th of this month. I have to take off of work to speak to THEN another person to straighten this out. I advise all not to have your cell, computer, tv and land line on one bill. Verizon has screwed this up so bad I really need to seek an attorney. Don't know what to do.
