Changes "Timeless Long Distance Plan" to include NEW $3.00 FEE which gives you 30 minutes of free (?) Long Distance that month and extra minutes cost you $. 10. If you don't use your "FREE" 30 minutes, you lose them and the $3.00.
I recently joined the "TIMELESS LONG DISTANCE PLAN" because of their rate increases as I rarely used any Long Distance Service.
I presently pay $16 for the Big Deal Plan that has Call-Waiting, Distinctive Ring, Calling ID w/name and Call Block so I won't be disturbed. Then add the non-listed number and resident line charge of $18.29 and a $6.00 fee for Interstate Access Charge and $6.17 in Taxes, I have a monthly bill of over $46.46 just for the phone to sit on a desk in case I need to use it.
Adding a $3.00 charge so I can have 30 minutes free (?) Long Distance (should I need it) is not fair. Their letter states (from Ms Jill Wagner, Vice President Consumer Marketing) that I should call 888-212-7560 to discuss one of their LD Plans with no monthly fees and no minimums. THAT is what the "TIMELESS LONG DISTANCE PLAN" was before they changed it to a $3.00 a month fee.
I called the 888 number and the choices were no monthly fee but I had to pay 14 to 28 cents per minute based on mileage, but Christina could not tell me what that would cost me calling 200 miles away.
A visit to their web site still listed the "TIMELESS" Plan as no monthly fees and only 10 cents a minute with no minimum useage fees. The new $3.00 fee will make it a S-O-R-T-A no minimum useage service. Another Arther Anderson Accounting method.
I want a service provider who isn't changig their rate structures so fast their web sites can't keep up with it. A rate that is stable so a person canplan a budget around. Verizon, why break something that is working OK???
