Raises your long distance rate without informing you, ripoff

I signed up for Comcast Residential Phone Service in August and chose the option of 7 cents a minute for my long distance rate. At various times since my service began; I have called and added additional features to my service. On June 15th of I called and added call forwarding to my services. At that time Comcast raised my long distance rate to 12 cents a minute without informing me.

I did not realize that my rate had increased until February of when a large long distance bill caused me to call into Comcast to see if there might be a more economical long distance plan.

When I called in, I was informed that my long distance rate had been increased from 7 cents a minute to 12 cents a minute due to adding call forwarding in June. I was informed for the first time that this change required Comcast to "Rebundle" my services. Because they were no longer offering the 7 cents a minute plan, they changed my rate to 12 cents a minute.

I was informed that Comcast would not restore my 7 cents a minute plan, nor would they credit me for the excess charges from June until now, caused by this rate increase. The reason they give is that the bill I received following the call in June, apparently stated that my long distance charges had increased.

Neither my wife nor I noticed this and our long distance charges were not significant enough over the past 8 months to give us concern that our rate had gone up. On the 16th of February, 06; I was promised a callback from a manager within 72 hours. I have yet to receive that call.

Additionally Comcast suspended our long distance service because we paid the wrong amount. I corrected the problem on the 16th of February, O6 and was promised that my long distance service would be restored within 72 hours. As of the 22nd my long distance service has not been restored. I used to consider Comcast to be an ethical company, but not anymore.
