I ordered new wireless service from Verizon along with a $300 phone. When I got the phone, it came with an area code outside my place of residence. I called to have it corrected and they said they didn't have any available in my area code but that my calls were free.
I explained to them that anyone calling me would have to place a long distance call, so I didn't want the phone. They said just return it, which I did. I had American express stop any payments for the phone, and now I still get a bill for early termination of a contract. I had the phone all of 15 minutes.
They don't answer emails and continue to bill me. I find it hard to believe they had no available numbers from two different area codes. They didn't even seem to care. Poor business.
