Charging customers $10 for record of charges!

I called UHAUL to request copy of my receipt for renting a truck.

The "Customer Service" department wanted my credit card number so they could bill a $10 or $25 charge for a record of what they'd billed me!

Such a charge was NEVER discussed in the rental process, although after-hours dropoff was planned all along. Obviously, if no one is there to recieve it, one can't get receipt at drop-off. I'm surely not the only customer who wants a record for confirmation, personal records, and tax documentation.

I hadn't indicated rental location, so the $10-25 fee is based on a corporate policy, unrelated to local office or region. The rep asked if I'm on e-mail, so they were probably e-mailing it, not even incurring postage stamp charges. This is truly blatent fleecing of their customer base, without any pretense of customer service focus.

The "Customer Service" rep said he is based at HQ. He put me on hold multiple times but refused to let me speak with a supervisor, give me a main corporate phone number, give me contact info for their corporate public relations group, or even tell me where UHAUL corporate was based. I had to go online to get any info. I would've called to them first, but they apparently aren't interested in being contacted, so here I am.

THIS POLICY HAS TO GO - No one should pay to find out what they paid! A copy of the receipt is a reasonable item to expect with a rental.
