This is to describe the HELL that I have experienced (and still am experiencing) with Dish Network:
I called to order Dish service about 3 months ago. The operator said I could get a "free" DVR upgrade. I said I did not want that because I did not want to pay the monthly fee. When Dish came to install my service, I told the technician that I did not want the DVR reciever and he promised me that it was free and that I would not have to pay any extra for the equipment or service, so I agreed.
A month later, I got charged for the DVR. I called to explain to them what I was told and they said they would send me the right equipment, but that I would have to pay $100!! Even though they were the ones who screwed up. After spending about 3 hours on the phone arguing with them, I got them to give it to us for free.
I also found out that they added several things to my bill that I did not order and had to hound them to get the discounts they offered up front. Watch your bill like a hawk because they will do anything to get more money out of you.
so i got my new reciever. Two months later, I get a call saying that UPS is going to pick up the old reciever. I call Dish right back to tell them that I do not have a box, so they say they will send me a box and I should recieve it within 5 days. I never get a box, so when UPS comes, there is nothing for me to send the reciever in.
Then, I get a charge on my debit card for $300!!! Making me over-withdrawn. When I call to tell them the situation, they say they will send another box, blahda, Blah. But I tell them I am sick of dealing with the HELL that they have put me through and I want to cancel my service. So they tell me that they are going to charge me $240 to cancel—even though I've had such a wrotten experience.
Finally, after speaking with two people in India (that's where their call center is), I get transferred to the US, speak with 2 people here, including the "executive management team" (who was useless), and finally leave a message for someone named Nicole who is the executive manager guy's supervisor.
I am livid. This company has no morals and will do anything to get more money out of it's customers. It never ends. I did have Comcast before, and though it was more expensive, I never had to deal with any of this.
