Purchased a new Sopranos Pinball Machine 6/3/06 for $3250. Called owner because I saw ad on E-bay. I wanted to know about the warranty. I was told that there would be a one year warranty. The only condition was that due to the fact that I live in NY and company is in Pa, owner would have a tech ship the parts and try to talk us through any repairs. If we could not repair pinball machine, then they would find a technition to send. Owner told us if we agreed, he would end his sale on E-bay and sell us the machine. We agreed. We paid for the pinball machine with a credit card. It took over a week for them to deliver and set up machine. When delivery person got here finally at 8PM, he told us that the company stands behind their product even reiterating a story of one customer who left his machine outside in the rain and the owner stood behind his product.
Well needless to say, JOE, the owner does not stand behind anything he said. We have been calling since July becuase one of the flippers was not working properly. No one ever returned our call. Then in September, the machine stopped working completely. We kept calling and were always told someone will call you back. Finally in November we got a technician on the phone and he told us he didn't know how to repair the problem and would get us in touch with a local tech to fix the problem. The tech that we spoke to at the gameroom told us the tech would have to see what the problems were to see if it was covered problem. Well we have left several messages for the tech. He never called us back.
Spoke to the owner Joe the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and advised that the tech never called us back. Joe said he would try calling and get back to us. Never did. Yet another lie. Well today I called and got Joe the owner on the phone. He started off by yelling at me. He told me he never told us there was any warranty and if he did it was only 90 days. We told him that more than one person listened to the coversation and that he did in fact tell us about the one year warranty on parts and service with the caveat of trying to fix it ourselves first with their help prior to sending a repair person. He started screaming at me that he never said such a thing and hung up on me. Nice Customer Service Skills! I called back and told him I heard what he said to my fiancee'. He told me why were you on the phone.
I said yes I was and listened to the whole conversation. I further told him that we would not have went with his company had he not told us about the one year warranty. He told me that no company offers a one year warranty. Another lie. Check other websites and call other companies, one company even offers a three year warranty. He then told me that I didn't buy the pinball machine from him. I told him my fiancee's name and he said well he's my customer and I said yeah and you used my credit card. He then told me he's done all that he would do by having his tech call us back and that his tech helped us. All his tech did was when we finally got in touch with him was tell us he couldn't fix it and would get us in touch with a tech. He also told me that we never complained about anything until now. Well we've been calling since July.
This man refuses to stand behind anything he said in the past. He further told me that he will not do anything else to help us. So he has our $3000 plus dollars and I have a machine that doesn't work. I asked him if he had a lawyer that we could contact. He told me have your lawyer call and he'll get the information. I further asked him for his mailing address. He told me "You should know where you purchased your pinball machine from." Thats how we ended the conversation with Joe once again telling me that he's done all that he's going to do. How can someone lie like this and get away with it? Than everyone that was here and heard him is the liar? This business also charged my credit card, but they never gave me or sent me a receipt or any information on a warranty.
