I arranged for Transport to move our belongings from Indiana to Missouri. Originally it was to be a straight move, but due to a death in the family, we had to change our moving date and put our furniture into storage. When Transport arrived on the arranged date, they were not prepared for the amount of furniture nor did they have the packing materials necessary for packing up the kitchen, dining room and the electronic equipment as arranged.
Needless to say, I had a lot of damage due to items not being packed correctly. They did not put the items they disassembled back together as stated on their website and in the contract and when we tried to put these items together, there were several pieces missing. When Transport delivered the furniture from the storage facility, they do not give you any paperwork so you can check off the boxes as they are delivered. Then when I noticed that there was furniture (beds etc) missing, they argued that everything was out of the storage area and that this was all there was.
After checking with their office, it was discovered that there would be another delivery the next day. The actual deliver was 9 days later. Still everything was not delivered and now it is considered lost. Since I was unable to list all of the missing items until I unpacked everything, on the inventory sheets before the driver left, my claim was for a very small amount of the lost/damaged items. Repeated attempts to contact the company have resulted in no return phone calls.
