I purchased a T-Mobile phone after checking there website and confirming that I could in fact recieve local phone service in my home area. Come to find out the phone number given to me after activation is a long distance call from my home phone, it is impossible for my children to reach my as I have no long distance phone service at my home.
I e-mailed T-Mobile with this problem and was told I would hear from them within 4 days to rectify this. 7 days later I called their 800 number and was told I would have to change my local phone service to a St. Cloud, MN number. Why would I do this then anyone in my town would have to call long distance to reach me?
3 days later I called back to see if I could speak to someone else and after a half-hour of the gal telling me it was my problem and not anything within their control, I spoke to a supervisor who said he understood my problem, but there's nothing that can be done, I could file a complaint with T-Mobile and let them resolve it.
So I did and still there is no response. How can they sell a phone in this area if there is no local service with them in this area? At least they could have told me first that it would be a long distace call, I certainly would have went with a different company. Now I am out $180.00 and stuck with a with a phone my family can't reach me on.
After filing a complaint with the BBB, I received a call from Stewart from T-Mobile, asked me to call him so we could settle this. I returned his call, got his machine and left a message to return my call. Nothing! A week later I called him again and left another message. Still Nothing. This was before Christmas. I wish I would have found this web site before I purchased my phone, I would have walked away fast. I can't believe this company doesn't try and rectify the complaints they receive. What a joke. I make sure I let everyone I know about the FINE (haha) service I have received.
