I ordered a "New Baby Gift Package" from FTD.com to be delivered to friends in Iowa. I submitted an incorrect address, as they had moved. The FTD package (via FedEx) was left at the door of this address, even though the recipient name did not correspond to the errant address. When I called both FedEx and FTD, they both denied responsibility and said there was nothing they could do. They were quite rude and uncooperative. The FTD fine print says that their mail carrier may leave a package if they deem it to be in a safe place. I submit that FTD and FEdEx have a responsibility to deliver the package to both a NAME and an address. Conclusion: FTD and FedEx may be legally absolved of any wrongdoing, however, I would caution people in using FTD because they do not assure delivery to the recipient. They will leave a package that you paid for anyplace, and hopefully the recipient will still get the package undamaged. Furthermore, please make note of their lack of congenial customer service.
